CGEGIS table from 01/04/2024 to 30/06/2024
This is an announcement from the Government of India for the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme (CGEGIS). The Ministry of Finance has issued a new table of benefits for the savings fund for the period from April 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024.
The CGEGIS is a group insurance scheme for central government employees in India. The scheme provides financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the deceased employee. The amount of benefit is determined by the employee’s salary and the number of years of service.
The new table of benefits is based on an interest rate of 7.1% per annum (compounded quarterly). The table is divided into two categories:
- The first table is for employees who subscribed to the scheme at Rs. 10 per month from January 1, 1982, to December 31, 1989, and Rs. 15 per month from January 1, 1990, onwards.
- The second table is for employees who opted out of the revised subscription rate of Rs. 15 per month with effect from January 1, 1990, and continue to subscribe at Rs. 10 per month.
