Creation of New Kargil Sub-Division Under Ladakh Postal Division
The Government of India, under the Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, has officially sanctioned the creation of a new Kargil Sub-Division under the Ladakh Postal Division in the Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle. This strategic move aims to enhance postal services in the region, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services to the residents of Kargil and surrounding areas.

Objectives:
- Revenue Generation:
- Ensure a sufficient increase in revenue to cover the overall expenditure.
- Conduct a financial performance evaluation of the sub-division after one year, including revenue and expenditure data.
- Cost Management:
- Minimize the expenditure involved in the creation of the sub-division.
- No additional funds will be allocated to the circle for this initiative.
- Resource Allocation:
- Redeploy group ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts with approval from the Head of Circle (HoC) and in consultation with the Chief Internal Financial Adviser (CIFA).
- Ensure that the diversion of posts does not affect the smooth functioning of current establishments.
- Infrastructure:
- Ensure sufficient space is available for the new sub-divisional office and the Kargil Sub Post Office within the departmental building.
The circle is requested to take further necessary action and provide an Action Taken Report (ATN) to the Directorate at the earliest. This initiative is backed by the Integrated Finance Wing, which conveyed its approval on 05/07/2024.
