If you need to access services like SAP, Finacle, Mail.gov.in, MIS CEPT, Service Desk, ePost, and CSC through the Sify Network without any issues, you must update the hosts file on your computer. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to update your hosts file and includes a link to download the necessary file.
Steps to Update the Hosts File
Follow the instructions below to update the hosts file on your computer:
- Copy the Provided IP Addresses and Hostnames: You need to copy the mappings provided below into a notepad file.
- Save the File as ‘hosts’ Without an Extension: Save the file without any extension (it should not be
hosts.txt, justhosts). - Replace the Existing Hosts File: Navigate to the following location on your computer:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etcReplace the existing
hostsfile with the newly saved file. - Restart Your Computer: After replacing the
hostsfile, restart your computer to apply the changes.
Important Notes
- File Location: The
hostsfile is located atC:\Windows\System32\drivers\etcfor Windows operating systems. - Admin Privileges Required: You may need administrator privileges to modify the
hostsfile. - Backup the Original File: Before replacing the
hostsfile, it’s always a good practice to make a backup of the original file.
