Notification for LDCE Inspector Posts (IP) 2024 Examination

The Government of India, Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts has released a notification for the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for the promotion to the cadre of Inspector Posts. This examination covers 66.66% departmental quota for the vacancy year 2024, scheduled to be held on 21st and 22nd September 2024.

Examination Schedule

Application Process

• Start Date: 1st August 2024, 9:00 AM
• End Date: 16th August 2024, 5:30 PM
• Verification by Controlling Officer: By 20th August 2024
• Correction Window: 21st August 2024, 9:00 AM – 23rd August 2024, 5:30 PM
• Final Verification by Controlling Officer: By 30th August 2024
• Approval and Finalization by Nodal Officer: By 7th September 2024
• Admit Cards Available: From 13th September 2024

Applications must be submitted online through https://k8sapi.cept.gov.in/deptexam as per the instructions in Annexure-I.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible candidates must fulfill the following conditions as per the Inspector Posts Recruitment Rules (GSR 89 (E) dated February 5, 2019):

• Service Requirement: Eight years of regular qualifying service in specific grades as of January 1, 2024.
• Grades Eligible:
  • Higher Selection Grade-II (Level-5)
  • Postmaster Grade-II (Level-6)
  • Stenographer Grade-I (Level-6)
  • Lower Selection Grade (Level-5)
  • Postmaster Grade-I (Level-5)
  • Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant (Level-4)
  • Stenographer Grade-II (Level-4)
• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as of January 1, 2024, with a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST officials.

The examination will follow the pattern and syllabus circulated in letter No. 7-14/2011-SPN-II dated April 6, 2021 (Annexure-III). The exam will be conducted at all Circle Headquarters, and candidates must appear from their respective Circle centers.

Special Instructions

• PwBD Reservation: As per DoPT guidelines, 4% reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) will be followed.
• Examination Mode: The exam will be OMR-based and descriptive where applicable.
• Standard Operating Procedure: Adhere to the SOP issued in letter No. A-34012/02/2022-DE dated August 11, 2022, and September 21, 2023.
